JUST ANNOUNCED: Details on Donovan’s festival set
We’re excited to share new details about Donovan’s upcoming appearance at the Purbeck Guitar Festival, where he will headline Rock-It Saturday on 23rd May.
As one of the world’s most influential songwriters and recording artists, Donovan’s performance promises to be far more than a concert — it will be a deeply personal musical journey. Now celebrating his 80th year, he is presenting a special show titled The Tale of the Gael, offering audiences a rare and intimate insight into his life, music, and legacy.
Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012, Donovan was recognised for having “singlehandedly initiated the Psychedelic Revolution” with his landmark 1965 album Sunshine Superman. His unmistakable style — shaped by his Gaelic roots, distinctive voice, and innovative guitar work — continues to inspire generations.
Set within the beautiful walled garden of Upton Country Park, this special performance is perfectly suited to the intimate and reflective nature of The Tale of the Gael.
